The Daykin family
"One of the highlights of our trip to KI was a dive trip that Craig went on with Jim Thiselton from KI
Diving Safaris (departs Western River Cove). Jim took our son Joel (11) out with them and they had the
most amazing day swimming up close with the seals and dolphins. It was a "once in a lifetime"
opportunity that they will never forget. ."

Hi Jim & Josie:
So glad to get your newsletter. Wish we had more vacation time to come
along on some of your expeditions.
Also, this thank-you is long overdue for all the time Jim spent in getting
Mark relaxed on his first dive and for giving me the help with my bouyancy
by telling me to make sure the air was always out of the bc. We had a
great time diving the rest of our trip but we really didn't have your
specialized attention or higher level of expertize on the other dive trips.
If we wouldn't have come to KI first, we probably wouldn't have enjoyed
our diving on Heron Island so much since I would have been still struggling
with the air in my bc and Mark may not have got in the water since the
larger number of divers didn't allow for attention for panicked divers
(one lady panicked and she never did get to dive; her husband, an advanced
diver left her and went anyway; what a jerk).
Heron Island was great but the visability wasn't always that good since
a storm was moving in. We will always remember KI and diving with the
sea lions. We actually think KI would be a nice place to live. The climate is similar
to where we live now except for no frost and snow and we loved that there
were so many farms since we live on a small farm here. We just have to
wait a few years for the pets and Mark's parents to go to heaven (the
dogs are very old and the in-law's are in their 80's).
When you get some time away from your busy schedule, could you or Josie
give us some info on KI with regard to life there since I believe you
said you live on a farm also, such as size of land usually available,
if there are usually existing properties for sale, average price, climate,
native spiders and snakes, water source, etc.
Hope to hear from you soon. Every time I think of our time on KI it makes
me happy. It was our favorite place in all of Australia.
Hope to see you again in the near future.
